Wonder Girls - Everlasting Impressions
19 December 2008 is the day that it happened, the day I became a Wonderful. No, I’m not boasting about myself. A Wonderful is a fan of Wonder Girls. And who are the Wonder Girls? You will not regret it after finding out :D
Wonder Girls is a Korean girl group consisting of 5 members, under JYP Entertainment. They are named Korea’s little sisters due to them being quite young yet talented. So you may ask, why love the Wonder Girls? The answer's pretty simple. Their personalities and their skills. Each of the members has different personalities, and putting them together simply makes them wonderful. Each of their personalities shine in different ways, and each member have her own charm.
The five members of Wonder Girls are Ahn Sohee, Sun Mi, Park Ye eun, Min Sunye and Kim Yubin. More information on the Wonder Girls can be found on websites such as Wikipedia, so go check it out. The following will be my impression of the Wonder Girls.
Ahn Sohee, the youngest of the members, aka Mandoo( Dumpling). Her cuteness is second to no one. Watch the Tell Me video and all questions will be answered. Her cute puffy cheeks and her cute expressions will leave you melting, even on a cold day. She may seem arrogant sometimes, but that’s because she’s shy and do not talk much. However, all these are compensated by her cuteness whenever she talks.
Sun Mi, the second youngest, same age as Sohee, aka 4D alien. Sun Mi's name is actually Mi, but since most Koreans have names with 2 syllables, she's called Sun Mi. She is known as 4D alien because of her unique personality. Apparently she shows 4 types of personalities, Bright and Normal, Bright and Weird, Dark and Weird, Dark and Alright. Her vocal range is wide which can be seen from the songs Tell Me, So Hot, Nobody as well as other songs Chalang Chalang and Novice. Her dorky and adorable expressions and words never fail to brighten my day.
Park Ye eun, aka Park Oppa. Ye eun’s vocals is no joke, she really has a powerful voice :D The song Saying I Love You is composed by our talented Ye eun. Her outgoing personality would ease any tension that might be present, and her imitations of people are always funny. Surprisingly, she is always eating and eating, yet able to maintain her good figure. She is very caring towards her fans and constantly worrying about their health.
Min Sunye, aka Min Jookie or Leader Min. She’s the leader of Wonder Girls, and also fulfils the motherly role to her members. She is always showing her care and concern towards them, during interviews or performances. Her singing is filled with so much passion that she never fails to amaze people. Her always ready smile warms the hearts of people, portraying her as a role model to many.
Kim Yubin, the oldest member, aka the rapper. Yubin never fails to impress us with her rapping. Her deep voice is really suited for rapping, and her sexy image is a plus. Wonder Girls would not have been the Wonder Girls today if not for her raps. She was introduced into Wonder Girls after former member Hyunah had to leave due to her health.
To get started, these are the songs that are a must listen: Irony, Tell Me, So Hot, Nobody, This Time, Saying I Love You, Wishing on a Star. The first 4 songs displays their skills in dancing and the last 3 displays their vocals. Contrary to popular beliefs that groups that dance well during live performances are unable to sing well, Wonder Girls are able to dance well AND still sing during live performances. This post would be flooded with links if I had to list down the performances. So it is the duty of a Wonderful-to-be to do some ‘research’ and find out more.
